Since its inception in 2009, the Atlantic Institute on Aging has sought to shift societal perceptions of growing older and build a new paradigm of aging as a time for sharing wisdom. Sharing wisdom is a big concept but it can be expressed through even the smallest actions and is built on four core values: inclusion, appreciation, respect and self-esteem. Our mission is to advocate, educate and research on a wide array of topics, causes and issues relevant to aging and aging-care in the Atlantic Region. It’s this sharing wisdom piece that we hope to highlight in our new podcast series which launched in September 2013.We’re developing and delivering a bi-monthly, half-hour podcast that touches upon a wide variety of aging related topics, that fit within the five strategic areas of focus that guide how we can achieve our mission: Wellbeing, Life-long Learning, Financial Recognition, Employer Support and Long-Term Care.If you have any topics you’d like us to cover, or if you’d like to be interviewed, please let us know.DISCLAIMER: The views and opinions expressed in the program are solely those of the individual(s) who expressed them and are not necessarily a representation or reflection of the values, beliefs, views or opinions of the Atlantic Institute on Aging.
